I'm poor!!

So I'm sitting in class (it's my child dev. class where the professor presents his own research, instead of teaching us things... oy.) and I'm just writing to report I got an email yesterday saying I was eligible for an MTEL waiver.

You see, the licensing exam for educators in MA is the MTEL (because they can't use the PRAXIS like every other place in the country) and it costs $100+ to take the dumb test.

We were told we should take it before December to make sure we pass in time to be licensed by graduation. I haven't scheduled it yet. A representative from the Career Services Office came to our class and told us about the whole thing, and also said she had some fee waivers for people who had serious financial need.

Well, I didn't really think anything of it; after all, I've never really qualified for any extra money ever. But, as I said, yesterday I got this gem of an email in my inbox that said I was eligible for a waiver and I needed to go pick up the form if I wanted to claim it. Do I want to claim it? Yes. So... fortunately, graduate school has made me poor enough to qualify for fee waivers!

I'm not really sure if I should celebrate about that, but, if I'm going to be in debt, I might as well get a free test out of it.... right?

(Also, there is a girl coughing up a lung in front of me; someone needs to tell her to go home...)
