"A Window to My Madness"

Hello everyone! It's time for my weekly blog post!

I'm in the SWKT computer lab waiting for my class at 11, and I sat down and took out my almond M+Ms for a little snack. Here I was, just munching away, when the kid sitting next to me turns and says "Mollie?" I'm thinking: "Uh-oh-- who do I know that could be sitting next to me right now?" I looked, and it was Arrian's friend Ryan! So he's trying to do homework and I'm trying not to disturb him, but what an odd coincidence! He suggested the title for this entry, so I used it. In case you're wondering...

So I feel kind of bad for gypping you all last week because I was lazy and didn't want to write. I'm feeling a little tired today also, but I felt like I couldn't leave you hanging for 14 whole days! So... here I am. To make up for my lack of posting last week, I copied and pasted a little bit from an email I wrote to someone. These are a couple stories I would have told last week if I had written. Enjoy!
<><><><>
So here's the story: I was playing with Will outside last week, and he picked something up and shoved it in his mouth. I would have thought it was just dirt, but then he said "Yummy" so I figured either it wasn't dirt, or it was some dirt tastier than anything I'd ever heard of, and therefore questionable. I went after him and he ran, so I had to scoop him up-- all kicking and screaming at me. I finally got my finger in his mouth and flicked something out, at which point he got very angry and clamped down on my left arm. Having only one hand to fend him off, I first sternly told him "William let go!" and he looked up at me, and paused for a minute, and then grinded (ground doesn't sound right...) his teeth back and forth with my arm in between them. It hurt like... a lot. What a punk! My sister says he knows not to bite, but he does it because this little girl who comes over to play with him bites him when she gets mad. So Will bites people like his unsuspecting Aunt Mollie.

Oh, and upon further inspection, the foreign object expelled from his mouth was someone's old piece of gum. Gross.

In other news, I began volunteering at another elementary school on Friday mornings, 8:30-10:30. (I also volunteer at a different elementary school on Tuesdays. This new one is for kids with disabilities.) So Sean should usually be driving me to this new school, but couldn't last week, so I had to walk. I had to get up at 7 and had to leave the apartment by 8 to be sure to get there on time. 8 am in college time is very early, just so you know.
So I walked into the room, school was just starting. There's this excited giggling and chattering and the next thing I know these 6 3rd graders were crowded around me eagerly looking up at me... I said hello (which I thought would be customary in such a situation) and this little girl didn't return my hello, but just excitedly asked "Are you wearing green?" -- I looked at her excited face; my eyes wandered down her arm to her hand at the end of it; she slowly opened and closed the jaws of her pointer finger and thumb-- and I thought, "Is this kid going to pinch me?!" I went eagerly searching, trying to think of anything I might possibly be wearing that was green and couldn't come up with anything. Just as these 6 kids were about to tackle me, and commence what was sure to be an unpleasant pinching session, I put my arms out and squeezed my eyes shut. As I braced myself for the attack, I heard the little girl say very matter-of-fact-ly "oh. yes you are. you have a green thing on your wrist." and turned with her posse and walked away. Wow- I guess the girl takes her st.patrick's day pinching rules very seriously- I was entirely convinced even if I was wearing something green, she'd pinch me anyway. I opened my eyes and looked down-- I apparently had a dark green hairband around my wrist-- which was really really lucky for me.

I guess I had forgotten the "pinch everyone who's not wearing green" rule-- and st.patrick's day wasn't even on friday, but these kids weren't about to let that minor detail stop them. I don't remember my elementary school experience being dotted with st. patrick's day pinches. Maybe Cromwell kids just didn't learn that whole pinching rule. Or maybe I just always wore green when I was little and never had to worry about it. I don't really know. But luckily I survived for another year-- and if I have any reason to be around elementary school kids next year at this time, I will remember to wear green-- the pinching threat this year was a little too traumatizing for me to forget.

Another highlight of the elementary school tutoring experience was when a kid told one of his friends that I was smarter than the calculator.

OH! And... if I had written last week, I would have included a portion of my entry entitled "Battle Wounds" or perhaps "Scarred for Life" I couldn't decide which was better. But... let me explain. So for some odd reason over the last two weeks I have been consistenly injured by various objects in my environment. On my left forearm we have a scar (which is old) from the iron in our apartment. I brilliantly leaned over earlier this semester (or last semester?) while ironing a dress for church and burned the living daylights out of a small line of skin on my arm. Last week, when William bit me, he bit me in almost the exact same spot and has left what looks like will be a little scar. Wonderful. Then, for cleaning check last week, I was cleaning the bathroom floor and I went to my room after finishing and looked down and saw my right hand had 3 cuts on it. I apparently did not notice when I acquired these cuts, but there they were. Then, I was running will down to the car bryce was waiting in, and I helped him buckle him in. And then I ran back up the stairs to my apartment, and lo, there was another cut on my thumb. (This one is rather painfully obnoxious.) I managed to cut the cuticles of both of my ring fingers, which is also rather painful and rather obnoxious. I bashed my right wrist into something (I can't remember what... I guess this is why I should write posts every week and not put them off...) and gave myself a nice red bump and bruise. It was lovely.

So I have been having a rough time of it lately. Luckily it looks like my wounds will all heal just fine-- I think I'll live. (I know you were worried about my impending doom.)

What else can I tell you?! Katie and I have been having a good time with our social life. I think I might be having some people over for cake for the big 1-9 birthday that's coming up fairly soon.

In other news, Katie and I went to bed on Tuesday night to the sound of raindrops pelting all the surfaces outside our window. We woke up on Wednesday morning to see snow-covered treetops outside our window. Ummm... didn't someone tell Mother Nature that Spring officially started a week ago?!? Why is it snowing?!?! It was cold and yucky out, and I was a little annoyed with the snow-- it's supposed to be SPRING! It already mostly melted, but today it's just rainy and cold, and I don't like that one bit either. I guess this is just making up for all the warm days we had a couple weeks ago. Boo.

Well anyway. I can't think of much else to tell you all-- I feel like I had more stories all stored up for writing opportunities such as this, but I can't think of them! Did I tell you about the rotating swingset?!? (AH, I just remembered I got my right wrist injury from the rotating swingset!!) Well maybe I'll tell you about it the next time I write.

Anyway. So I think that's all for this week. I need to get back to my almond M+Ms. OH! Megan is coming this weekend for our birthday! How exciting!!! It's gonna be a fun weekend. I just have to write a paper and survive a Music 101 test.

until next week, or maybe sooner if the story-telling mood strikes me,

well ladies and gents,

I hate to disappoint you, but I'm not going to be posting an entry today. I had one all planned out that had been formulating in my head for a while, but now I'm tired and just not feeling up to it. Soooo, maybe later today. We'll see.

Happy Thursday!

Katie and Mollie: Dumb and Dumber

Hello everyone!
I announce to you the return of the mollie! Here for her weekly blog post. I really do need to start posting some from my apartment though-- considering I don't have pictures with me on campus.

Anyway. So... how has my week been?! Well, this week was one of the busiest ever. I had 4 classes on Monday and had to take a political science test on Monday night. I studied some on Saturday and Sunday, so I was feeling alright about it. But, as part of our study guide, she offers about 15 possible essay topics, and then on the real test gives you two to choose from. On the first test, I didn't really take time to research 15 independent essay topics, and I didn't do horribly on the essay. This time I was going to research the topics, and then got lazy and decided not to. So I went to take the test on Monday night and felt pretty good about the multiple choice. Except, I did worse than the first test. I don't know why, because I studied more for this one, but I got 4 points less on the multiple choice this time than last time. Oh well. And then it came time for the essay. She provided no paper on which to write the essay, so I wrote it in the space on the back of the bubble sheet and hoped that was enough. I left the testing center, and these two guys were talking behind me-- they apparently both had just taken the political science test and they were talking about how they did worse on this one too. But their scores were significantly lower than mine, so I was feeling ok about mine. I think it must be because the last test was on Britain and Japan, and this test was on Russia and China. Russia is generally pretty easy to understand, but China is communist, and therefore they have a government system, but nothing really happens the way it's supposed to. For instance, they have an executive system that includes the State Council, and then State Council standing Committee and then Premier and President. But the guy that pretty much runs the country is the head of the party, the CCP, which is the General Secretary, at the top of the National Party's Congress, Standing Committee of the NPC, Politburo, Standing Committee of the Politburo. It's all very complicated.

Sitting in Social Work class on Monday, our professor says "If you've been looking at the syllabus, you'll see that your test opened today and goes until 9 pm Wednesday night. Please take it." I'm thinking: Holy crap, I didn't know there was a test! Bah!! and then this girl raises her hand and says "Since the test is this week, can I request that the annotated bibliography be due next week instead of this wednesday?" I'm thinking: Holy crap again! I didn't know the annotated bibliography was supposed to be due this week!!!

Anyway. So then on Monday night I read for BOM and then pretty much went to bed. I would have gone to FHE, but no one told me where it was, so I just went home. On Tuesday I went to BOM and then picked up will from the law school. Then Erin and I went shopping and I got ink for my printer. OOOOOOOOOOO I just remembered a few stories I have to tell you after this one! Ok. So then Erin and I went to lunch at Subway waiting for it to be time for me to go tutoring at the elementary school because Erin was kind enough to offer chauffeur services. I waltz into the school on time, go to sign the book, and the lady says "School gets out in 5 minutes. We have shortened days for parent-teacher conferences." Oh. That's nice-- it's good that someone called and told me, otherwise I'd be a little annoyed. YEAH. I would have been especially annoyed if Erin wasn't there to drive me and I had to walk the 25 minutes there to walk the 25 minutes back, which is what happened last week. I walked home and did some stuff and waited for will to come back at 3.

Then, I hung around with Erin on campus for a while. I have to go to 8 musical performances for my music class, and BYU was advertising a piano quartet, performing on Tuesday night. I thought it would be cool, so I was going to buy me a ticket. But on Monday in Music class, our professor said "A piano quartet is a piano, cello, violin, and viola. I can't tell you for how long I thought it was four pianos." ... Oh. Well, I don't want to go to a piano, cello, violin, viola concert for $6. So then on campus with Erin, I was telling her about it and she says "The two pianos eight hands concert?" ... What? So is the piano quartet REALLY a piano quartet?! I was confused. So I trekked over the boxoffice and just asked when the "two pianos eight hands concert" was, to avoid all unneccessary usage of the phrase "piano quartet." The girl said it was that night. So I bought me a ticket. And then she asked me where I wanted to sit. Ok wait- I just said I wanted the ticket, I didn't ask to have to decide where to sit too!!!! Seriously, I just stood there looking at her little color-coded map for about 5 minutes until she said "Can I make some suggestions?" and I said "Yes, please do!" and she told me, and then I said "Yeah. That's fine-- just give me a ticket wherever you said."

Anyway. So then I went to the piano quartet. Katie and I made burgers for dinner on Monday, which were really good, so I had a left-over burger on Tuesday. The piano quartet was really cool. They played "Stars and Stripes Forever" as their encore piece, and it was pretty awesome. I was glad I went.

Then I went home and read for social work a little and then went to bed. I went to classes on wednesday. My political science professor was talking about the midterm and said "I forgot to give you paper to write your essays on. So, you really only had a couple of inches to write. I feel like if I tried to grade them, I'd just be grading who had the smallest handwriting. So, you all get full points on the essay." Oh my goodness- talk about happiness. I was excited. And it was a beautiful day out. I sat outside and tried to read for the Social Work exam (which covered 8 chapters, but was online and open book. But timed-- you only got an hour to answer 50 questions) but couldn't really because there were too many conversations happening around me. So then I went home and had an hour and half before I was going to a play with my roommate. So I sat down and just started the Social Work test- I didn't have time to try to study more. The thing about open-book, timed, on-line tests, is that they don't really test your knowledge, they test your index-using abilities. The professor said you shouldn't expect to do well if you didn't study and/or read all the chapters the whole way through. I read 5 of the 8 chapters. I got a 98 on the test. I'm a good index-looker-upper! Seriously, I was impressed with my own skills.

I only got one wrong, and that's because it wasn't IN the book, and I guessed the answer that was right, and then at the last second changed my answer to something else, which ended up being wrong. Oh well, a 98 is good enough for me.

Anyway. Then Katie and I went to see a student-written/produced play "Stuck on the Edge". It was really good. I'm not going to tell you what it's about because I think this entry is getting long.

Then I came home and went to bed late after staying up to talk to katie for a while. I finally went to bed and only got about 5.5 hours of sleep last night-- we have birds outside our window that tend to get a little antsy in the early hours of the morning. Usually bird chirping is a pleasant thing to wake up to, and it usually doesn't keep one awake. However, there is this one bird in particular that has been getting on my nerves lately. Usually birds twitter little songs, but this one seems to be stuck on one note, that comes in 3 second intervals, for about an hour and a half every morning. It sounds vaguely like a stifled fire alarm or something. I told Katie the other night that I was going to climb the tree myself and strangle that thing. She told me she didn't hear any such bird and that I was going crazy. And then last night, (Monday, Wednesday, Fridays are katie's earliest days-- mine are the opposite.) I got home from school and she says "I heard that dumb bird this morning. I'm gonna kill it." Mmmm-hmmm-- so I'm NOT crazy. Or, if I am, Katie and I are crazy together.

Ok. So while we're on the subject of Katie and I, we have recently been convinced that our two brains' intelligence negate each other when we're together. Case in point: On Saturday night we had stake conference. So Katie and I obediently got ready and were grumbling about having to walk all the way to the Smith Field House for the meeting. There's this huge mob of people walking out of Heritage Halls, down across campus, and they all start cutting across towards the testing center. Katie and I wonder out loud about where they're going. We get to the stairwell to go down to the SFH, and this group of guys from our ward walks by, and one of them laughs to his friend "Dude they're going the wrong way-- where are they going?!" Katie and I keep walking and then stop a couple seconds later. "Katie-- I just remembered it's in the JSB tonight." Now, this wouldn't have been bad at all, however-- the group of guys walking by happened to be a group of ... guys generally disliked in our dorm for their arrogance. We don't know them at all, but one in particular (who HAD to be the one that made the comment about us going the wrong way) rubs us the wrong way, and he has this air about him like he thinks he's the best thing that's ever walked the planet and girls ought to be flocking to him. Katie describes him as "Gaston" from Beauty and the Beast. We felt ridiculous. Of course it had to be HIM that told us we were lost. We felt really dumb.

After recovering from our one dumb mistake, Katie and I went to bed. My roommates had woken me up 3 times already, and on the fourth time, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 4:30 am, and felt I had a legitimate right to ask them to stop being loud in the hallway, which carries sound right into our bedroom. So I swing open the door and see a couple of them at the end of the hall. "Can you please NOT be in the hallway?" They apologize or something and I got into the kitchen for a drink of water. I then go back to my room and realize that the door is locked. Katie and I lock it for various reasons, and we are usually very proud of our safety-minded-ness, but right about now, I was feeling a little annoyed. It's 4:30 in the morning. I want to be in bed! I tried knocking on the door, but no answer came. Eryn and Ashley tried to insist that I bang on it, which I thought would just be rude, so I didn't. Katie was having a hard time sleeping too, and if she was finally asleep, I didn't want to wake her. So after a few attempts, I laid myself down on the floor in front of the door and tried to fall asleep. I was hoping at some point Katie would get up to go the bathroom or something and I could return to my bed. But that didn't happen, and finally after an hour and a half, I went into the kitchen and slept on the couch until Katie got up in the morning to get ready at 7:30. I got back in bed and got up at 8 and got ready. Sean said he'd pick us up and stake conference was at 9. Katie and I were ready, and then it got to be 9 am and sean still wasn't around. So I called him. "Oh, I'm sorry! I forgot to set my clock ahead!" me: "oh, that's ok" sean: "Oh wait. No I didn't. Stake Conference isn't until 10." WHAT?!!? Ok Mollie and Katie strike out again. We are so DUMB when we're together. I swear. Hahah.

And THEN my printer pooped out about 2 weeks ago. Kyle kept saying he'd come and fix it and then I'd forget to call him. Finally last saturday I decided to call. He came over with Courtney and proceeded to commence his investigation to find out what was ailing my non-paper-feeding printer. After about 15 minutes of detective work, he says "What is that?" looking deep into the stomach of my printer. "What?" I ask. "That silver thing" he says. "I don't know." So he goes about dislodging this mysterious silver item, and after a few minutes of intense operating, he pulls it out somewhat disgusted-ly. "Mollie- you got a gum wrapper stuck in it." "Oh." A gum wrapper. In my printer. I felt dumb. I was really wondering why it had just all-of-a-sudden crapped out on me. I suppose if someone shoved a gum wrapper down my throat I'd probably stop working for them too.

Kyle left.

Anyway. Soooo that's my week in review. It's been a long week-- as is obvious by my post. Tonight I have the Academic Banquet-- for people in on-campus housing who got a "3.9 GPA or higher in their first semester." Semi-exciting I guess. I get free dinner, so I'm not gonna complain.

I saw Sean this morning while we were passing for classes and him and I are going to do something tomorrow night, so that should be fun. I'm not sure if Arrian will call or not, so we'll see.

Anyway.

That's all the updating I have for you now.

I hope you're all having lovely weeks and enjoying things. I only have 4 more weeks of class and I can hardly contain my excitement!!! In 4.5 weeks, I will be a sophomore!! Bah! I'm so excited! I hope you all enjoyed Pi day yesterday. I didn't have any pie to eat, but if I did, I would have enjoyed it. Anndddd... beware the ides of march today!

Me and Oliver-- we're tight.

hello everyone!

so my first item of business is to say I HATE GETTING UP EARLY!!! ... just had to get that out in the air. (that was for you nichole). But anyway. Seriously, getting up at 7 is no fun... especially when it seems my roommates come alive around 11 pm and therefore there is very rarely quiet in which to conduct said sleeping. Last night I couldn't go to sleep to save my life. I think I spent about an hour and a half just laying there. and after finally falling to sleep, I woke up at 4:30 and stayed awake until 5:30 and then finally fell back to sleep, and then woke up at 6:30, fell back to sleep, and had to get up at 7. It was obnoxious. And I am tired. I went to bed early enough to get at least 7.5 hours of sleep, and managed to only get about 4.5-- not fair!

Well anyway. So I got up this morning and went to BOM and then came to the SWKT and started the day off right with my blueberry cheese pastry and then came down to the computer lab. I have noticed that the computer lab has been increasingly busy when I try to write my weekly post. At the beginning of the semester, there was no one here at 9 am. I think people have been realizing that they have to do the work for classes that they've been putting off all semester, considering there's only 6 weeks left. Or maybe it's just because it's spring and therefore people don't mind getting up early as much as they mind it in the winter. I don't really know. Either way, my regularly peaceful blogging atmosphere has become a little frenzied lately.

Moving on. I'm not sure there's much to tell you about. I had a test last week for Biology. I studied for about 2.5 hours-- not a lot, but a decent amount of time. I got an 85 on the test. I wasn't too excited about it-- until I went to class on Wednesday and found out the class average (and median) was 68. So there! Oh, I have to complain about this. So... our biology test. It was scheduled for Thursday and Friday of last week. I studied after classes on Friday and then went and took it around 3. I just wanted to go home at that point, so I decided studying any more would be kind of pointless. So I went and took it. And got an 85 (as I said). There was no late day for this test. It only went Thursday and Friday. No late day is really good for me, because I tend to... take advantage of the late day when there is one. $5 every time I take a test late-- "You've got to pick a pocket or two" to support that habit!! (I haven't been doing that--paying for tests, not picking pockets-- nearly as much as last semester though, so yay for me!) Anyway. So when I got to class on Monday, the professor asked who hadn't gotten a chance to take the test yet. About 5 people raised their hands. He said "The test is open until Wednesday, so take it today or tomorrow." Now wait a minute-- if I could have had 3 more days to study, I would be taking it "today or tomorrow" too. What's the deal?!

Apparently our professor only provided 180 copies of the test for 240 students. This would be fine, except he later decided students could write on the test-- meaning they don't get put back into circulation for the next kid that comes along. Therefore, the testing center ran out of tests late friday. Therefore, the test was open on Saturday, and then Monday-Tuesday for all those people who decided to go out of town for the weekend. Seriously?! Seriously. So... of course, procrastinators triumph on the one day out of the entire year that I decide not to be one. Of course.

Anyway. Soooo... that was my bio. test. Apparently much of the class was quite angry about the test- the professor told us it would be almost all on his lectures, so I guess if you don't go to class, you're pretty much screwed. But really, whose fault is that?! But the professor was trying to be all sympathetic about it and said that he gives "sympathy points" and 1/2 the class will get an A or A-... in the class. Sooooo... Biology isn't looking too bad after all. "Please sir, I want some more--" classes like this!!!

So over the weekend, Katie and I and Arrian and Arrian's friend decided to make Sunday dinner. So, we went shopping on Saturday and bought all the necessary provisions. Katie and I were dying all through church on Sunday thinking of our future meal. After church, we got started cooking and then the boys came about 2 hours later. We had: steak (yummmmmy), mashed potatoes, salad, applesauce, rolls and water. The steak and mashed potatoes were the best part. Oh my mouth waters just thinking about it. Because of my successful cooking experience, I bought a steak at the creamery yesterday, and I'm excited to eat it... possibly tonight!!! MMMMM. "Food glorious food!!!"

And our company was good too. Arrian and his friend Ryan (I'm so not making this up) were very nice and Katie and I enjoyed having them over. And Arrian paid for the steak. Granted, I have to pay him back. But, to anyone who buys me steak I say: "Consider yourself part of the family!" (;

Anyway. So yes. Then this week I had a music test and then I have a Political Science test to take on Monday. The music test was ok. I mean, I did fine. But seriously-- when you've got 6 classical piano pieces, it's sort of hard to know each of their four movements independent of each other. I mean, one of the songs was Beethoven's 5th Symphony, which is easy because the first movement is all "Dun-Dun-Dun DUN, Dun-Dun-Dun DUN!" (the rhythm is short-short-short long. that should help you understand that...)

And then there was Hydn's Symphony No. 94, and the first movement is easy to recognize because it's the Surprise Symphony. And then there was a Mozart Piano Concerto, whose first movement is easy because Mozart uses a lot of turns in his music, and those are easy to pick out. And then there was a Beethoven Piano Concerto (2nd movement) which was easy because it's all sing-song-y and therefore easy to recognize. And then there was a Mozart opera, and opera is nothing like any of the other pieces, so that was fine. Then Mozart's Ein Klein Nachtmusic, whose first movement is also easy to recognize: Dun. Dun-dun! Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun! (Ok-- so if you don't know the piece, my computer-created rendition of it probably isn't helpful.) But anyway. The first movement of all of these were easy to recognize. The problem comes when you get a little musical snippet to listen to, and the question is "What song is this, and what movement of the piece is it?" ... "Oh, oh pick me! I know. Oh wait, no I don't."

So... that was kind of... annoying. But I did fine, so I won't complain too much. But... do you know which Classical composer's wife had so little respect for his talent that she used his music to line her cake tins? ... Neither do I.

Anyway. So I don't have much to say. I have to do service for my social work class and I think I might have to start taking the bus down to an elementary school, before classes, 3 days a week. ... "Good morning 7 o clock, we're gonna be friends!"

Well, I have nothing to say (as you've probably noticed by now.) So... I guess I'll end my day's rant.

I hope you all are doing well! It's rainy here in Provo today-- I hope you guys are having a sunny day! It's warm though-- yesterday it was about 60 and today it'll be 50 and the rest of the week is supposed to be rather warm as well. I hope you all are enjoying mild weather, and if you're not, you can be jealous!

-mollie

p.s.- "I'd do anything, for you dear, anything!" (that's one of my favorites, and I didn't get to put it in, so I decided to randomly include it at the end. Because it's going to be in my head all day, and I'm hoping now it'll be in yours too!)

prince charming.

ok-- I know I already posted today.

But I wanted to post some pictures... William came over on Tuesday and I took some pictures of him. I thought you might enjoy looking at them. ... The first one is adorable. The second one is what I think will will (having two "will"s together looks funny) look like in about 15 years when he's too cool for anyone-- I have this vague picture in my head of him saying "Hey Dude" right before making this face. And then there's me and Katie-- we dressed in pink and black a couple sundays ago and took pictures. She's my new roommate since I moved out of my room with Eryn and into Nichole's vacant spot.

Mm-hmmm.

movie, mitochondria, and maintenance

hello everyone!

Well, let's start at the beginning. First, you might be wondering why this entry is getting posted at 12:30 Utah time... and not earlier. Well, let me explain. Last night, a guy from my Freshman Academy envelope of classes called and wanted to "hang out" with Katie and I. We hadn't seen him in a while, but we figured "eh, why not?" So he came over. His name is Arrian, he's from Las Vegas, and he's going to be 23 in the summer. He went on a mission to Bulgaria. That's about all I can think to tell you about him. But anyway. He came over and we went to the creamery to get snacks and then we watched Hitch at our apartment. He left at 11 or so, and then I decided I better start studying for my Biology midterm, which is tomorrow. (It's going to royally suck, just so you know. It covers 15 chapters of stuff... I think I'm going to die.) Anyway.

So then I decided to start studying and it was about 1:30 when I decided sleep was also very important. So I went to bed and made an executive decision not to attend my Book of Mormon class this morning at 8. I get 3 unexcused absences for the semester before they start counting against me, and the semester is 1/2 over and I haven't used any of them yet, and I was exhausted. It sounded like the best solution to my problem, and I am not regretting it.

I got up at 10 and realized I'm going to need to do laundry later today, which is a gigantic pain. Anyway. Then I came to my 11 o clock class and then went and participated in a psych study for extra credit, and then came down to write an entry to you all, because I know you're dying to hear what's going on-- and there's a Biology review at 3, so I have about 2.5 hours to kill. Oh wait-- just as I typed that, I remembered that I babysit Will on Thursdays... meaning... no Bio review for me. Bah.

Anyway. I wore earrings today for the first time in a really long time, so when my hand brushes up against one of them, I get all freaked out thinking there's something on me. "Oh yeah. Earrings." And then I feel dumb.

So two nights ago, I was sitting in my room with Katie, and I went to get a pen out of my desk drawer, and managed to pull the handle (and front wooden panel) clear off. Fabulous. The little metal hinges totally just broke off. I swear I didn't pull that hard-- ask Katie!! So... I suppose I will have to make a call to maintenance at one point in the near future-- in the meantime, it is being held on by a fancy duct-taping job completed by Katie.

In other news, yours truly is officially single once again. Hah-- maybe Arrian's visit had you wondering?! Yup. I'm single-- as of... a week ago tomorrow. Sean and I broke up for various reasons, two of which were because he's busy a lot and doesn't want a serious relationship before going on his mission. It was a pretty mutual thing, so now we're just friends, which is fine with me. Boyfriends shmoyfriends-- who needs them!? (honestly)

Anyway. So... hmmm oh yes! I have an interview for the Freshman Academy job-- this friday. We'll see how it goes! I'm really nervous about it!!!

I don't suppose I have anything more to say. Especially now that I realized after I post this I'm just going to walk home, so I kinda might as well have just walked home and posted something when I got there. But oh well.

I hope you all are doing well in your various places of viewing this. Utah has been pretty cold lately and we've been getting snow the past few days. As a matter of fact, I looked at the weather forecast by hour and every hour says "snow" until 10 pm tomorrow night! That's intermittent snow; we're not in the middle of a blizzard or anything.

Well anyway, ciao for now

p.s.- I need to start posting my pictures!!
