next year I refuse to live with roommates who do not clean up after themselves.
for instance... dirty dishes ought not to be left around the kitchen. they should not be put in the sink full of leftovers. at the very least, dirty dishes ought to be rinsed and put in the dishwasher. and when the dishwasher says "clean", that means unload the dishes that are in it, so dirty ones can be put in.
I mean, I love my roommates, but next year I will not live with people who do not clean up after themselves.

a tribute to thanksgiving break

well hello everyone!
so today is officially my last day of thanksgiving break, and a month before christmas!!! oh christmas. how excited i am. but let's not get ahead of myself. I shall speak first about thanksgiving, which was, after all, 2 days ago.
so... on tuesday, I had friday classes. because it's the last day before break, they made it a friday- so I had psych, physical science, and english. it was kind of an exhausting day, even though nothing much was happening. on monday I had two papers due- I'm not sure how well I did on either of them. Probably not my best work, but should be good enoug
h to get me a B+/A- ish. So that'll be ok. Then on Tuesday we had this LAME 10-12 page group english research paper due. How, exactly, do you write a group research paper? Well, if that question has you scratching your head a little bit, just think of how we felt on monday night. So anyway, our group met at the library at 8 and stayed until midnight and wrote a paper. Then one of the girls in the group who had no classes on tuesday took it home to finish things up and make sure it all went together. It was kind of bad, because by the time we turned it in, we were like "GRR We don't care what we get on it! It's turned in, and that's all that matters." Oh well. We'll see how it went soon enough I suppose. Then, on my way back from english, I walked with a girl in my english group who also lives in heritage halls, and I was telling her a story about my latest trip to the testing center (which I will have to post here in a separate entry coming soon...) and these three guys stopped us and asked if they could film us answering church trivia questions for a DVD game-show thing they're making. So... we did. We answered 3 church history questions and got ourselves filmed while doing it, and they suggested that we "be animated" so when we got one right we jumped up and down and all. It was rather... embarrassing. But maybe you'll see me in a couple years when they get that game out in circulation. HAH.Anyway. So I walked home and then realized that I had misplaced my scriptures somewhere on campus on monday. OH NO! So, I called the lost and found office, but they said they didn't have them. So now I'm all distraught- because I have no idea where they are- they must be getting lonely, and the nights are cold here!!! I hope they're doing alright wherever they are. And hopefully some good samaritan will turn them in soon. (It's almost amusing that I quote a bible story to talk about losing my... bible [and book of mormon, etc].) But anyway. I'm hoping I'll get an email on monday telling me they have them safe and sound; things have been pretty shut-down around here for the thanksgiving break.

Anyway. moving on. So that was tuesday. Then megan and her roommate came on tuesday night. I can't remember if we did anything exciting, so I'm guessing we didn't. Then on Wednesday, we went and ate lunch at the creamery and then we went bowling. I love bowling. I just might stink at it, but I love bowling. I bowled two strikes and a spare though, so all was not lost. Then we... went shopping a little bit and then came back to the apartment. Amy and Ashley left for thanksgiving that day, and then there were three: me, megan, and her roommate kimberly.
We made pies (I made pecan, megan made apple crumb) that night, and made the appetizer (which is orange and grapefruit mixed together with a bunch of sugar- as seen in the punch bowl in the picture of the feast) and then on Thursday we got up at 9 and got picked up by erin to go help her make dinner. I made the peas, corn, and helped with the glazed carrots. I was also supposed to make the sweet potatoes, but there was a war that got in our way. Me and the microwave against the sweet potatoes. Those babies would not cook. I'm telling you- I had one in the microwave (because they'd been in the oven for a while and nothing was happening) for 12 minutes and it was still rock hard. We finally ended up mashing up what we could and throwing the rest away. We did end up having more than enough sweet potatoes- though, I'm not sure if part of the problem was that we were cooking yams. Are yams and
sweet potatoes the same thing? I never understood that differentiation. But anyway. Erin bought "Jumbo Yams" at the store because they were on sale. (We took a picture of Erin with the largest of these discount vegetables) Perhaps they were on sale because they were made of rock and no amount of microwaving could soften them, thereby making them completely useless and somewhat detrimental to the making of thanksgiving dinner. Perhaps.( wow this entry is really long and I haven't even talked about dinner yet...although I have included a picture of our feast)
So anyway. we sat down for our thanksgiving feast at about 2:30 pm. It was lovely. I ate until I couldn't eat anymore, and then I ate pie. And then we were all sitting around playing with will when I notice he needs a diaper change. ("NOOOO!") I tried to stealthily hand him off to Megan, but she was onto me and wouldn't allow it. So I took him upstairs to change him. While I was mid-diaper-change, he started screaming and squirming out from under me. After fastening a diaper around his ankles, I tried again and had to hold him down to keep him from going anywhere. He was still unhappy about the whole project. So, I had to find some clothes to put him in, since he had wet his others. So I'm holding will with one hand and searching through the drawers of the changing table with the other. I finally find a onesie and grab it from the bottom drawer and pull it over his head and then begin to button up the bottom. It is at this
point that I realize it is rather uncharacteristically difficult to snap the snaps on the bottom. Not willing to fight with Will any longer, I scoop him up and bring him downstairs and put him down on the floor to play. "Umm, erin, this was all I could find to put him in." Erin looks over and then bursts out laughing. And pretty soon after that she got into that silent laughing where something's so hilarious you can't even make a noise and your eyes start to tear. After she calmed down, she explained to me that apparently the shorts and 3/4 length sleeves will was sporting (which I thought were just part of some new cute baby-wear enterprise) were actually the result of stuffing him into a onesie marked with the size "3-6 mo." William is 17 months old. He would stand up to walk across the room, and his outfit wouldn't allow him to stand up straight all the way because it was so tight and it would propel him forward, and he'd end up falling over again. We laughed until we cried. All of us. And then Will ate pie and had to be changed again and that was the end of my embarrassment and our fun. (I was able to capture him on film though- maybe you can laugh too.)Anyway. I packed up left-overs to bring home but haven't yet broken them out-- maybe because with Megan and her roommate here, I feel inclined to eat more at random intervals during the day, causing me to never be hungry enough for a second round of thanksgiving dinner.
So we were at Erin's until 10 on thanksgiving and then bryce brought us home. Then on Friday we got up and went to the bookstore and I got pictures developed ( a whole ton of pictures ) because my camera card (which holds 420 pictures) said it only had 16 left to take. Yup. So then we met Erin because she was working and also met my cousin because she was visiting, and went back to Erin's house. We then went on a trip to Cabela's for an unknown reason and then headed up to salt lake city for a meal at "the pie". ("The Pie" is a pizza restaurant that is, apparently, incredibly popular on a friday night, at which they serve gigantic pizzas with about 1" of toppings. We got a 23" pizza to share) Then we went and rode the Trax because Bryce explained: "My boy is going to ride a train tonight, gosh dangit!" So we went and rode as far as we could for free and then rode back the other direction. Then drove home.

Today I got up around 11:30 (oh vacation-- when you can sleep as long as you want and no one can yell at you...) and then got up and showered and sat down to watch the much anticipated BYU vs. University of Utah football game. In case you didn't see it, I'm going to give you a play-by-play. We got two touchdowns right off the bat, so the score was 14-0 and it was looking like it was going to be an easy one for BYU. I screamed at those touch-downs and megan was in the kitchen and said "SINCE WHEN DID YOU BECOME A FOOTBALL FAN!?!?" ... umm... since I became a freshman at byu and got tickets to all the home games? So anyway. We continued to watch. So then Utah got some touchdowns so we were behind by 3 at the half. ("BEHIND!!! GAH!") In the fourth quarter, BYU scored a touchdown and therefore had the lead with 10 minutes left to go. ("Alright. All we have to do is keep them from scoring and we'll win!!!") Then, Utah got a touchdown, giving them the lead with 4 minutes left on the clock. ("Oh NO! We're gonna lose!!!!") So then BYU gets the ball all the way down the field, so they're at the 17 yd line or something, on the third down, with 10 seconds left in the game. And BYU throws, and the guy in the end zone just misses it. 4th down. THREE SECONDS left on the clock. (At this point, I was standing in front of the TV... megan told me to sit down...) seriously. THREE SECONDS. 4th down. THIS WAS IT!!! So John Beck (mr. quarterback) gets the ball, and the three seconds runs out as he's looking for someone to throw to... and he's looking, and he's looking, and he runs one direction, and it looks like he's gonna get tackled by Utah, and then all of a sudden, he chucks it off to the opposite side. And there, in the end zone, with no one around him, is a BYU guy, who slides on his knees into the catch. AND BYU WINS THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy cow it was exciting. I was screaming and jumping around and Megan was too, she says, "I don't even like football, and I don't even care about this game, but watching you watch it got me all nervous and now I'm cheering!!" Oh boy. It was an incredible game. Of course, after that touchdown, John Beck started crying and all the seniors ran out and jumped on top of him, and it was great. I'm telling you, that was one intense game. Seriously, I don't really know when I turned into a football fan, but it happened. But I still don't really like to watch professional teams on tv-- but watching BYU play is pretty exciting. So horrah for BYU!
Anyway. So then we went to the bookstore again to pick up my pictures and to buy some stuff and then we came home and hung around for a while. That's been the extent of my thanksgiving break- I know- pretty exciting.
I have church in the morning and then all of my roommates are coming home at various times throughout the day and megan and her roommate are leaving at some point, and then it will be back to the old routine. But... only four more weeks of the old routine, and then I'm going HOME!!!!
Anyway. The point of this EXTRA LONG entry is that my thanksgiving break was satisfying.
I have posted pictures so maybe you can feel a little bit like you were there with us, enjoying all the antics.
Someday I shall learn to use less words to say what I want to say.

partiers and pilferers

Well hello faithful viewers- if there are any of you out there.So... I should be in class right now. Well, sort of. You see, my only class on thursdays is a physical science lab period at 4. In this lab period we (get this) do labs. So when we don't have a lab, we usually have questions for homework instead. Well, if I go to lab when we only have questions due, the TA tells us to work with each other to do the questions, and that's it. So I didn't really feel like walking the 20 minutes over to class to deliberate with some other kids for about 10 minutes so I could walk the 20 minutes home and do the assignment here. So I just did the assignment and opted not to go to the physical science lab. Maybe I should have gone. But I didn't. This is the first time I've "skipped" a class.
Anyway. So I have some pictures for you. One is of our party that we had last thursday- there's a picture of me taking off the 1/2way link on our paper chain of how many days left until christmas. I told my roommates when the 1/2way mark came, we were having a party. So they all set aside time on Thursday night for us to do just that. We bought pizzas and cookies and sparkling cider and just talked and laughed quite a bit. It was rather fun. So there's a picture of me taking off the celebratory link, and then there's pictures of us "partying". It was fun. It was like 11 pm because it was after the football game, so it was late, and we were all tired, and acting really dumb. Which made it even more fun. So yes. We are 1/2 way to christmas- well, actually, we're more than 1/2 way because I started the chain in October. Hah.
Anyway. So yes. We're excited. That night, we were up late. It was about 2 am and we were in our rooms and all of a sudden I hear Katie give a high giggle/shriek while running down the hall of our apartment- she and nichole go bounding to the back entrance and throw open the door: "IT'S SNOWING!!!" So we all put on flip-flops at 2 am and ran around outside in the snow. It's unfortunate that it did not stick to the ground- I can't wait for whiteness. I don't like the cold, but if it has to be cold, it might as well be pretty too. So yes. I'm excited for that.

Then the weekend was pretty much full of nothingness. We had a dorm thanksgiving dinner on saturday night. I made stuffing. Then I had church on sunday, as usual. The Sunday School Presidency had their first meeting since school started, so I went to that. Apparently the whole Sunday School presidency is going to be out of town for the next two weeks-- which leaves me- the lowly secretary- to solve any issues that might come up, though I do not expect any issues. I could tell mr. sunday school secretary did not trust my ability to deal with any unforeseen issue that might come up while he's gone. O ye of little faith. Oh well.
So then this week, I haven't been up to too much. I have a physical science test- so I got asked to a study group last night and then again tonight. Should be interesting. I'll keep you posted on that. It's with mr. cheerleading friend guy, so it should be interesting- as I said.
I didn't have to babysit will today because erin has a stomach bug and didn't go to class. So I didn't have to babysit. But then I slept an extra 2 hours today- trying something of a preemptive strike against illness. All day I've been feeling kind of weird- but I'm not sure if I've ACTUALLY been feeling kind of weird or if I just think I feel weird because I'm worried I'm going to get my sister's stomach bug. Let me tell you, I'd take any illness over vomiting. Ick. So I'm hoping that it's all psychological and that my immune system is doing just fine. I think I have a pretty strong immune system anyway- so I'm hoping the extra sleep this morning gave my little immune system soldiers a little extra buffness to fight off those pesky sickness-causing germs. Come on! Go white blood cells!!!
I'll be sure to keep you posted on the
ir success.Anyway. So that's today. I didn't do much of anything. But then I have a "girls' night" that I helped plan and therefore have to help succeed. That's at 7. Then I have this study group at 9:30 tonight- yes, I know- 9:30 is late for studying. Then Friday I have American Heritage lab/quiz, psych, community council meeting, physical science. Then I have to meet with my group for student development. Then I'm going to do service with a roommate from 6:30-9 I think. Then we have to stay up late to clean again because it's that time again: cleaning check is at 11 am on saturday. So then Saturday. Cleaning check. Last home football game- (at which I must get a picture of me and my cheerleading friend jorgen... maybe I'll post it.) Then possibly taking the physical science test at some point. Then bowling with my ward (for free!!!!!) from 5:15-7:30, then Freshman Academy Bonfire in the canyon from 7:30-11ish.
It's going to be a busy weekend. But then, it'll be monday, and then on tuesday I have three papers due- and then it's THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! yay!! I'm so excited for real food- and having the apartment to myself for a few days.
Anyway. So that's about it. I don't have much to say- as a matter of fact, I'm not sure I really have anything to say. We got our carpet cleaned today- ooOOoo. AhhHHhhh. I know, don't get too jealous. It was the most exciting thing that happened today- that's almost sad. But it was. These two guys came and cleaned the carpet. It's nice to get rid of the stains that have been here since we moved in... but it's somewhat inconvenient to have the carpet wet for the rest of the day. I was jumping down the hallway to cause minimal foot contact with the damp carpet, and made it down the hall in 5 jumps (of which I was very proud) and then jumped the last time to the kitchen. I had quite the momentum because of the nature of jumping, and when I reached the kitchen, my wet feet slipped on the kitchen tile and, well... the rest is history. You'd think I would have made the connection that wet feet on tile was not really going to work out well, but I didn't. And physical science is my best grade right now. Hah.

Anyway. Really. Not much to say. I'll post the pictures and get on with my night.
-Mollie
p.s.- an update on the silverware issue. Well, I'll give a synopsis in case some of you missed this. So about a month ago, I was going to eat a bowl of cereal, and found 2 big spoons, 2 little spoons, 2 salad forks, and 3 dinner forks missing from my silverware collection. I was rather distraught by this fact and put up a "Missing" poster in the kitchen. Since, all have returned except 1 salad fork. Most showed up without explanation, but two spoons were found in random places, and, well, and I am now convinced someone was/is just messing with me: one was in Amy's make-up kit under her bed. The other was found today, in Nichole's computer bag in her closet. So, I'm not sure who has been relocating my silverware, but I am happy that it is returning. I wonder where the last fork was stashed. I'll let you know if it returns. I made a new "Missing" poster to advertise this poor fork's lost state.

just some pictures

So here are some pictures from recent events in my life. The first one is of my roommate Amy. She tried to curl her hair with saran wrap (I don't really know how...) I only know that she woke up with hair like shown in the picture... which looks much similar to the
hair I woke up with after trying to do rag curls in my hair for the school play. That was a disaster... trying to get them unwound from the rag and then trying to comb it out- I lost much hair in that production. Anyway. Thepoint is, I know how she felt. Except, she didn't have time to take a shower and get rid of those crazy little curls... so she wore her hair like that all day. Bwahah.
Anyway. The second picture (going across) is of William in my closet again. I was worried he was going to start throwing my shoes out again, but he just opened the door and sat down on the ledge and watched me as I cleaned my room. Silly little boy. So I, of course, had to take a picture of him. The third picture is of me with my precious halloween loot. Not much, but enough for a college student to get by.
In the second row, we have another picture

of William. He fell asleep in my arms the other day, so I put him down on my bed. He rolled over and slept in the shown position for about 1/2 an hour. I took a picture because I know Megan and I used to favor this sleeping position when we were little. Does it run in the family?! (o; The next picture is of me for preference. I asked one of my roommates to take a picture of us, and she purposely took it only of me. Lovely. I think she was trying to showcase my hair- which she did for me.But anyway. The rest of the pictures are from preference. Pretty exciting stuff. We had the boys over for dinner before and made them hawaiian haystacks because we were going to a hawaiian themed dance (we thought we were pretty clever).
My date and Amy's date (the guy in the driver's seat of the car) are from our FHE group. Ashley's date is from her archaeology class and Eryn's date is... a stranger to us all. He's visiting from new jersey and she met him that evening.
Anyway. It was a fairly amusing time. After preference we drove to my sister's house and played a game and stuff. We didn't stay out too late- we were all rather tired. But... we managed to squish 8 of us into a dodge neon... and drove around provo without getting pulled over, though we had two close calls. It wasn't our plan to do so- but Ashley's date didn't bring his car because apparently he was misinformed about our plans after the dance. But anyway.
That's about all I've got for you. I hope you enjoy the pictures- I must say none of them are very flattering. But my next door neighbors were all impressed I could wear the same dress I wore to the HS semi-formal sophomore year. Haha.
Well anyway. It's 12:30 am on Wednesday November 8th and I should go to bed now.
Later,

just saying hello
hello everyone.
i'm just letting you know that not much has been happening. well, actually, a lot of stuff has been happening, just nothing i feel the need to post here. my weekend ended up extremely long, which is good in some respects, and bad in others. i ended up having plans for both nights- of a weekend i should have spent studying. how did that happen?! i got asked on a quasi-date on friday night and then asked someone out on saturday night because it was preference and a girl is, after all, expected to ask a boy. it was pretty fun. and then sunday was just busy. it was definitely a tiring weekend. lots happening around here.
but anyway. my roommate was using my computer to register for classes at midnight. it is now almost 1 am on tuesday. ... let me just say that supposedly registration dates are determined by how many credits you have, and yet, i have been assigned the last day. the LAST day. you know what that means? craptacular classes for mollie next semester.
which reminds me- i really should look up courses so i have some general idea of what to frantically try to click on at midnight on the morning of november 10- although, it probably won't do much good because anything even remotely popular will pretty much be full by then. but either way.
so yes. i took a psych test today and i have an american heritage test tomorrow. i have a group english paper due on wednesday- a rough draft- 10-12 pages. don't get me started on that.
tomorrow i will be babysitting and then going tutoring at the elementary school and then going to work on the group paper and then going to my 4 o clock class and then taking the american heritage test. it's sure to be a treat.
i have a ton of pictures to put up- i need to start getting them developed- i'm down to 40 pictures left on my memory card that holds 350. oh no! i think i have come to the conclusion that i take too many pictures.
but anyway. really. i promise my next entry will be more exciting... that is assuming that something more exciting will happen between now and then :oP
good night (or good morning...)

"trick-or-treat!"

well hello everyone!
it's been a while since I've updated here, and I don't have too much to say. On friday night I went to see the foreigner with my roommates. It was fun. We went out before and bought hot cocoa and treats and sat outside and ate them. And then we laughed a lot and got our picture taken together, as shown. Then on Saturday, I went to the ward halloween party. It was alright. Ashley took a couple pictures of us so I posted those also. The candy corn in the nose was not my idea. The candy corn fangs were a result of seeing the bishop do it when we went to that Avon devotional- I had to reenact it for my roommates.
That's about all I have to say for today. I went to a party last night, but it wasn't very fun... and one of my roommates convinced me to go trick-or-treating with her. Even though I'm 18 years old and haven't gone trick-or-treating since I was 11. But I went. I have a picture of me with my candy (not much- we only went for an hour) but I haven't posted it yet. Maybe next time.
Preference is this weekend- which means I asked a boy to go to a dance with me. Exciting. Hopefully it'll be fun. My mom sent my dress, so I'll have something to wear, which is always a good thing.
Until something exciting happens,
Mollie

William: Prince of Cute-hood.

so this is just a random update, because I have some random pictures for you to see.
so on wednesday, I made a pumpkin patch for my apartment- I thought it was quite creative.

on friday, I went to classes, and forgot that will was being dropped off for me to babysit, so I got a text message from a roommate and was on my way home anyway- I was only about 30 minutes late- it was just that if I had rushed, I would have been there when he got there. But my roommates were having some fun with him anyway. But when I got there, he was playing with the broom (which he did on Thursday- that's what the pictures are), and was being kind of fussy- whining about everything. So I took this an indicator of his tiredness and took him out in the hall and got him to fall asleep and brought him back into my apartment about 10 minutes later. My roommate said "How'd you do that?! He was so fussy!" ... everyone wants to know my secret- like I'd tell.
Anyway. So the pictures are from Friday afternoon- he fell asleep in his favorite position- he likes to be held by people, and usually doesn't fall asleep otherwise, so the pictures are him in his usual sleeping pose... not very
comfortable for the babyholder. But anyway. So then he was asleep on my bed when Erin and Bryce came to pick me and him up- I went to their house to babysit for the night because Bryce had a work party to go to. Nichole dropped off ashley later, so we watched a movie and talked, and it was fun (: And I got will to go to sleep!!!! This is a big deal. He was getting fussy, and it was getting late, but he was just having a ball playing. But I took him upstairs, and if you bring him into his nursery at night, and he's not ready to go to sleep, you autom
atically turn on his "scream and wail as loud as possible" switch. But I finally got him to calm down. And then put him down in his crib (because I REALLY had to go to the bathroom) and he woke up and started bawling again, so I repeated the process. I finally got him to sleep, and then I slowly maneuvered him until he was a little lower, and then until he was mostly horizontal, and then until he was being held in my arms away from my body so he wouldn't freak out when I put him in his crib and I wasn't touching him... this pro
cess took about 45 minutes... I finally was able to trick him into sleeping in his crib- Erin says she swears he has a censor that detects when he's being held, and he gets moved over the bar of his crib. You don't even have to put him down and he'll start bawling. Oy. But I managed to do it. And he was asleep in his crib... until I left. Which was lovely. Except my arms hurt today from holding him out away from me for about 15 minutes while I tried to get him into position so that being put in the crib wouldn't be such a shock. But anyway. So then we came back to our apartment, and we had our scheduled cleaning check for 8 this morning. So... at 12 am this morning, four of us were listening to music while cleaning everything... we all had assigned duties- and we spent three hours on it. I had to mop and vacuum the floors, and then clean the sinks in the bathroom and vacuum the couch. It turned out to be much more work than expected, and picking up

the couch cushions was kind of disgusting. I won't write about it.
Anyway. So then I finally went to bed at about 3 am and got up this morning and took a shower and our RA came in for our cleaning check, and she just kind of looked around- "Alright, everything looks good!" ... we will remember not to work so hard next time. I left at 8:15 to go to habitat for humanity with Bryce. His work was doing it and they were assigned to do drywall... a task at which I found myself lacking in proficiency. But I did the best I could. And it was pretty fun. And it gave me a whole new appreciation for construction men, and made me much more thankful for the house I have- because it must have taken a lot of work, and it is something that I stink at. Thank you to all the construction workers out there who build things for us- especially for the ones who build houses for people to call "home". It made me excited for whoever gets that house- ... and they will be thankful for it for the same reason I'm thankful for mine- because someone else did something they could not do, and only because they wanted to help.
Anyway. so then I got back to the dorm today at about 1 and then got dressed and went to the football game. It was pretty exciting. But we left early- when we left, byu was up 43-7, and there were 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Then on the way home, there was this sale of "Cleanflix" and all their movies- so Ashley stopped and got 3 for $20. So when we got home, I took a long nap, and then we watched the Cleanflix version of Love Actually. It made me homesick. What else is new?! (o: But it was only for like 10 minutes at the end, so all is well.
Anyway. I really don't have anything to say- and I just realized I'm kind of rambling.
I'll post the pictures and get on with my evening.
Have a good weekend all,
-Mollie

a 7th roommate! (and possibly more)

hello ladies and gentlemen... or whoever is reading this these days.
so I'm just posting because ... it's 11:30 and I want to go to bed, but I can't seem to find the courage to do so. You see, when I got home from class today, my roommate showed me a picture she had taken of a spider in our kitchen. if you connect the tip of your pointer finger to the tip of your thumb, and make a little circle, it was slightly bigger than that. And now, I cannot sleep.
Seriously. I'm afraid of spiders, but not really to the point of serious anxiety. I mean, we had spiders at home, but they were generally small. But these things are big. I have posted a picture for your viewing convenience. Ok, so we're not sure what kind of spider it really is, but our picture and the picture online seem strikingly similar, and we are convinced it's a hobo spider. Even if it turns out not to be, I will always think of it as a hobo spider. (Nichole sent the picture to her dad, so we are awaiting his verdict.) For the sake of this entry, we will just assume it was a hobo spider. So... hobo spiders are big. I have never really been a fan of big spiders.
And the fact that this
is what can happen if you get bit by one, really isn't making me warm up to the idea of these things just roaming free in our apartment. Hobo spiders are poisonous. POISONOUS!!! Now, spiders at home were never poisonous, and therefore the worst thing to fear was the unpleasant discovery of such an arachnid friend in your shoe, or in a corner, or crawling down the wall during the shower of an unsuspecting, innocent, bystander. But now, I have to fear a poisonous bite that could cost me some internal tissue and causes an incredibly nasty looking bite on your body. I'm telling you, I fear this with a mighty passion. My roommates were all kind of like "yeah its scary." and my room roommate was like "it's winter- they're coming in because it's cold out!" you know what? I don't CARE if it's cold out- a POISONOUS SPIDER belongs out in the world, away from scared young college freshmen from connecticut who have never had to live under the same roof as such a beast. (although i did live with a huge hairy tarantula... but it was caged, and relatively slow-moving...) I've heard this hobo spider thing has quite the physical finesse and can reach quite high speeds if necessary. (I did not see it, but my roommates' testimony was pretty convincing) FREAKY I'm telling you.
So anyway. I thought maybe if I wrote about it, I could successfully flush out all my fears of such spiders, but apparently it has only intensified it, causing me to be more scared than I was before I started writing... causing me to be even farther away from the desirable sleep.
My roommate tried to reassure me telling me that she killed it. "And", she added, "it was a female, so that's good!" ... I'm not sure what about that is good. In my opinion, a female generally means that she brought along all her little creepy hobo spider babies... into our apartment. And now they're just waiting to grow huge, when they'll plan a revolt and come out one night and attack us all for having condoned their mother's killing.
I'm telling you. I am afraid.
Anyway. I'll try to go to sleep now. I just had to get that out. Wherever you are reading this, I hope you do not have to deal with the fear of hobo spiders.

p.s. to my last entry...

So I just have some pictures for you...
The first two are of a can of frosting I bought at the creamery down the street. I don't really like frosting- it's too sweet. But then one of my roommates (ashley) introduced me to rainbow chip frosting... (confetti frosting) and for some reason it really satisfied my sugar craving. It has changed my mind about frosting... although I think this might be the only kind I like. So I bought some. I came home last wednesday after not doing so well on an American Heritage test (though I found out that I'm in the top 15% of the class with the score I got, and that it'll be curved A LOT so I'll get an A) and went to the cupboard, to find... an empty frosting can, with a note written on the top from ashley. Apparently the sugar craving got to her. She ate the whole thing over the course of about 2 hours. Needless to say, she felt sick. (The sugar high seemed to have interfered with her spelling- she forgot the "t" on "tonight")
Anyway. And then there's a picture of my pumpkin parade because they're just too cute not to include. I don't really understand how pumpkins can be cute, but I seem to find cuteness in all sorts of inanimate objects. I'm going to give the little five to my roommates, but I haven't figured out a clever note to attach to them yet... but shhh they don't know I'm doing it.
Anyway. So yes. This is just a p.s. of my last entry. In fact, I think that'll be the title of this entry.
Until again,Mollie
p.s.- So I was running to hand in homework that was due before 3:30 and on my way, all of a sudden, my purse strap broke (which is really tragic because I like the purse) and I had to carry it all the way home... unluckiness of Friday, October 13th? I think so. (o:
p.p.s.- my roommate just came in and brought me a piece of chocolate chip pumpkin bread (made with real pumpkin... they scooped it themselves) she made visiting a friend from home (who also goes here) tonight. It was wonderful. I believe I said it best when I said "october has always been one of my favorite months..." mmmmmmm.
Anyway. I'm really just posting again because I'm bored.
Later.
october has always been one of my favorite months...

Hello everyone!
I don't have too much to say. This week went by fairly quickly, which was nice- with the exception of an American Heritage test on Wednesday. I haven't been up to too much. Going to school ... haven't missed a class yet, so you should be proud of me. I'm always surprised at the amount of kids that blow off classes- I would feel like I missed something important. Anyway. So I haven't been doing much. Today Erin came and picked me up and we went to a craft store, (at which we saw a poster that said "I may be fat, but you're ugly, and I can diet." ... it made me wonder what kind of person would buy it and/or who they'd give it to) Anyway. And then we went to McDonalds and Will was getting fussy, and then we went to Erin's house and Will took a little nap, and then we headed off to a pumpkin patch with a hay ride. It was quite fun, and then it got really cold unexpectedly, which was not very pleasant. But I bought 6 little gourds that are adorable and then 1 little cute pumpkin... all for the low low price of $2. So yeah. That's what I did today. I have a paper (rough draft) due on monday, but ... I really don't want to, so I'm n0t doing it now.
My roommates are watching "a cinderella story", which I saw at home with Ashley and Danielle... and we laughed at it then, but I don't think I want to watch it a second time. Anyway. So yeah.

I have posted some pictures of my new haircut taken last sunday, and of my little adorable nephew hanging around in the pumpkin patch. he kept following this one pumpkin around. and he'd lean over to try and pick it up, and it'd roll away, so he'd walk down and try again. It was pretty cute. (he finally got it by sitting down and rolling it up into his lap. but then he soon gave up and moved on to something more stationary)
Anyway. There's also a picture of me and Erin in the ghost painted cut-out, which is lovely, I know.
Hope all is well at your various places of viewing this.
