I find the inappropriate use of the word "literally" annoying, but I have never spent time voicing my opinion on that fact until today.
If you are giving directions to someone (like me), please please please do NOT use the word "literally" as a modifier for the prepositional phrase "across the street" when what you really mean "around the block, through a door, and up a staircase".
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
