Hahaha, Boston gets SO STINKING COLD! Especially because you have to walk everywhere - 30 minutes in a wind chill of -15 will show you how bad your coat really is. Get some thick socks and long johns for under your pants, and then make sure you find the warmest coat ever made (it doesn't matter what it looks like.... no one else will be looking at it when they are walking past you in that biting wind)... You'll find that cheap gloves don't cut it and you will learn to wear a hat and not care what your hair looks like after. At least everyone else has hat hair, too. I used to wrap a scarf around my head and face.
And gear up soon because January is much worse than December. My freshman year it got to -30 for about a week and we just gave up and stayed inside. You know, all those warnings about losing your nose if you're outside for more than 15 minutes will really put things into perspective for you. :)

How cold is it? 20 degrees?
Try living in the frozen tundra of eastern Idaho! ... at least we're not in Rexburg anymore.
